• Dates for your Diaries

  Hope you all had an enjoyable Easter and are now ready for our new Summer term.  There are a few events happening for you to be aware of –

  · Monday 6 May 2019 will be Bank Holiday May Day so school will be closed for all.

   

  · St Peter’s Church Vestry, Cockett Road will be opening a school uniform bank where there will be clean, nearly new, free of charge uniform available on Saturday 4 May 2019 from 10am – 11am.  There will also be refreshments and crafts for the children to do.

• CBeebies Ridiculous Rhyme Show

  We had a very special visit today from CBeebies television The Ridiculous Rhyme Show.  Joe Chambers who presents brought along his two pals Henry and Dickey to entertain the whole school and they certainly did! They had so much energy and got all the children involved.  It was an unusual way of teaching reading and phonic awareness, one that allowed the children to have fun at the same time.  They participated in making up a rhyme about making a cake, thinking of words that rhyme such as bake, fake, take.  We all loved having them here for the morning.

• Onesie Wednesday

  Onesie Wednesday is April 3rd where staff and children can come in to school in a onesie in support of Autism Awareness Week.  Suggested donation of £1 or what ever is affordable to be donated to the Autistic Society.

• Inset day 7th January 2019

  Please don't forget that we have an inset day January 7th 2019 meaning the children will return to school January 8th 2019

• Art Exhibition Reminder

  A quick reminder that the children have invited you in to the school hall to view their artwork today, 27th November 3pm - 5pm with the opportunity to purchase.  More information on the newsletter section 

• No Funky Fit Kids Tuesday 27th November

  Due to the art exhibition Tuesday 27th November there will be no Funky Fit Kids after school

• Parents Evening YR3 J and YR 4/5 S cancelled

  Unfortunately, parents evening for YR3 J and YR 4/5 S are to be rescheduled from November 21st due to teachers being unwell.  Information on new date to follow.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

• Art Exhibition

  On Tuesday 27th November 3.00pm - 5.00pm the children are inviting you to an exhibition of their artwork.  Their pictures have been professionally mounted, framed and catalogued, and will be displayed on special boards, allowing you to stroll around our real 'art gallery'.  They will be available to purchase to raise funds for the school at £9.50 each.

• Children in Need Day

  On Friday 16th November we will be celebrating Children in Need day. Pupils are asked to wear either pyjamas or something brightly coloured with spots or stripes.  This is non-uniform day and we would respectfully ask for a small donation of your choosing to be made for this very worthwhile cause.

• Anti-bullying Week

  Next week we will be celebrating Anti-bullying week. News letters have been sent out today and a copy can be found on our newsletter page. To kick the week off,  staff and children will be wearing odd socks on Monday 12th November.
