Year 2 - Miss Evans

Croeso i flwyddyn dau! Welcome to Year 2 Miss Evans' class!

It is an absolute pleasure to be teaching Year 2 this year, alongside our fantastic teaching assistants Miss Seabright and Mrs Palmer. We have had an amazing time in Y2E so far this year, and only have a few months left to enjoy together before we prepare ourselves for the BIG move to Key Stage 2!

On our class page we share lots of important information about our day to day routines, newsletters and any upcoming trips and activities. We will also share some photos of the wonderful things that go on in our classroom and our brilliant learning. You can also follow us on ClassDojo and Twitter to see how we are getting on.

If you have any questions or need to speak to me, please do not hesitate to contact me via ClassDojo.

Thank you for your continued support,
Miss N Evans

Weekly Timetable

Monday

  • Home learning and reading folders to be returned to school

Thursday

  • P.E session

Friday

  • Friendship Friday activities
  • Spelling tests
  • New home learning and spelling words sent home

Please make every effort to read at home with your child. Just a page or two a day will be really beneficial and help your child to develop their reading skills. Reading books can be brought into school daily, and we will try our best to find five minutes for individual readers. Reading books will be changed around once per week, if we feel your child needs a new book. There may be occasions where reading books will be sent home for more practise, this will be communicated in your child's reading record.

Home learning books are sent home on Fridays and should be returned to school for marking on the following Monday. This is a chance for you to engage in some learning activities at home with your child, and builds on learning that we have been doing in class.

Our Topic - Long Long Ago!

In Year 2, we are going to be completing a topic based on history and how the world around us has changed.

We will be learning about different periods of history from the Celts to the present day. We will learn about the different elements of this period - food, clothes, armour, homes, etc.

We will, of course, be celebrating the Queens Jubilee - this will help focus our activities, we will look at her reign and the different decades of her reign. We are all looking forward to our Jubilee celebration!

We are also looking forward to continuing our PE lessons, every Thursday afternoon! We are working very hard for sports day. These lessons are so much fun!

We will also be continuing our 'Friendship Friday' sessions, we enjoy working and learning together.
