Year 2 Miss Evans

Croeso i flwyddyn dau! Welcome to Year 2!

On our class page you will find key information for the upcoming year, as well as a glimpse into our classroom and all of the fantastic learning that we are doing. It is my absolute pleasure to be teaching in Year 2 this year and I am so excited for the year ahead.

Important information:

Monday - Fruit money (£1.25) to be sent in, in an envelope marked with your child's name.

Friday - P.E - Children need to wear joggers and trainers for P.E, this may be worn to school on the day or they can change before the session.

Reading days - The children have been assigned a reading day, where they should bring their reading book and reading record to school so that they can read with a teacher and have their book changed if appropriate.

Thank you for your continued support, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.

An amazing Autumn term in Y2E!

Getting active!

We enjoyed developing our team building skills during P.E sessions, using our new ropes! We enjoyed challenging ourselves by making different shapes with the ropes too.

To celebrate Children In Need we joined in with Joe Wicks' big workout!

Getting creative!

For our Enterprise Day we decided to make Christmas decorations, we used the Chromebooks to research what was already on the market and then we collected information from other classes in tally charts and bar graphs to find out which was the most popular! We loved making our products and selling them on our stall. As a class we decided we wanted to buy new puppets to prepare and deliver puppet shows in class - so much fun!

Staying safe!

During the Autumn term we had our Kerbcraft workshops with Claire, we learnt so much about staying safe at the roadside and we all had lots of fun in the process - even getting to meet Rocky the Rooster, who presented us all with a certificate for our efforts!

Our trip to Craig Y Nos

In September we ventured to Craig Y Nos Country Park for the most fantastic learning experience! It was amazing to work in the outdoors and see so many new and exciting things - we even got to feed the ducks in the pond. We enjoyed a walk through the park - gathering materials, making mixtures and getting messy. The guides at the park were so informative, we learnt lots about the outdoors and had the chance to recreate a piece of Andy Goldsworthy inspired art. It was certainly a day to remember!
