It is such a pleasure to be back in Reception/ Year 1 this year. We have had a great start to the year and have all settled into our new routines well.

Things to remember....
Wednesday- PE day please can the children come to school dressed in their PE kit.
*Reading books need to be brought into school everyday
*Fruit can be brought in everyday, please make sure it is clearly labelled.
*Please make sure that as your child is dressed appropriately every day as we go outside in all weathers.
**PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL CLOTHING IS CLEARLY LABELLED**
Spring Term
Our topic this term is 'On our Travels'. We will be looking at how we travel, the different types of transport we use. We will also be looking at some of the different countries around the world and looking at how they are different to us!
Some of the countries are;
England
China
Wales
France
Greece
Poland.
If you have anything that you would like to share from any country around the world please let us know, we would love for you to share!!!
Reading
Please try and read with your child at home as often as possible, just reading one pay a day will all help. We aim to change your child's book once a week.
If your child has not yet received a reading book please practise recognising their sounds at home, when your child is confident with their sounds we will send a reading book home with them.
Writing
Please practise writing your names and forming the letters correctly. Focus on the woosh in and getting the letters to sit on the line correctly. See below for our letter rhymes.
Maths
Please practise writing your numbers with your child. We are having a big focus on number formation this term. Please see below for our number formation rhymes.
