RSE at Gors

🌟 Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) at Gors Community School

At our school, we are committed to supporting children’s wellbeing, relationships and personal development through our RSE curriculum.

💡 What is RSE?

Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) helps children learn about:

  • Building positive friendships
  • Showing kindness, respect and empathy
  • Understanding feelings and emotions
  • Knowing how to keep themselves safe
  • Developing a positive sense of identity and self-esteem

RSE is always taught in an age-appropriate, safe and supportive way, helping children understand themselves and others.

📚 What are children learning?

Across the school, children will be learning about:

  • ✅ What makes a good friend
  • ✅ How to manage feelings and emotions
  • ✅ The importance of respect and kindness
  • ✅ Different types of families and relationships
  • ✅ How to stay safe, including online

Lessons are delivered through class discussions, stories, circle time, and activities, creating a safe space where children feel confident to share and learn.

🏡 How can parents/carers support at home?

You play a really important role in supporting your child’s learning. You can help by:

  • 💬 Talking about friendships and feelings at home
  • 👂 Encouraging your child to share worries or concerns
  • 📖 Reading books or stories that explore relationships and emotions
  • 🌐 Talking about online safety and respectful behaviour
  • 👍 Reinforcing values like kindness, respect and honesty

🤝 Working together

We want to work closely with parents and carers. If you would like more information about what is being taught or how to support your child, please get in touch.

Thank you for your continued support 💙
