MCAS- My Child At School APP

We are pleased to introduce My Child At School (MCAS), a new communication platform designed to streamline how families connect with our school. Through this app, you will be able to report absences, update contact information, and message the school office directly. As we work toward full implementation, we anticipate using MCAS for features such as parent evening bookings.

To ensure you receive your access invitation, please verify that we have your current email address on file. If you are uncertain whether your contact details are up to date, we encourage you to reach out to the school office to confirm. 

Push Notifications

• When parents install the MCAS app they must enable notifications in order to receive Push Notifications. If notifications aren’t enabled at installation then parents will not receive any notifications.
• If a parent accidentally skips this step, they will need to delete the app and reinstall it, making sure to allow notifications during setup.

We will be taking part in the Primary SHRN survey again this year. 

This is for children in school years 3-6.

The Primary SHRN survey will be conducted during week commencing 21st October.

Free School Meals – Payments for school holidays

Welsh Government have confirmed today that they will not be making payments to parents/carers for meals in the summer holidays or beyond.
Their statement confirms that they explored a possible extension to the scheme that they previously announced would cease in May half term, but due to budgetary constraints, it was
not possible for them to continue with the scheme.

We understand that this will be a concern to many families, Welsh Government have

Important changes to School Meals Online Payments

Our online payment provider for school meals and trips is changing from September.  We will no longer be using sQuid, and the new provider will be CRB Cunningham’s.  

We advise that you run the balances down before the end of term, as school meal accounts will start from a ‘fresh’ £0.00 balance in September.

Next steps:

1. Use up balance: Please ensure any remaining balance on sQuid is used up before the end term.  If you are still in credit on your sQuid account at the end of term, then you will need to request a refund from sQuid directly. Link to the sQuid webpage available here:

1. Parent account registration:  Onboarding information will be provided to parents in the first few days of the school term, to allow you to set up the account and load funds.  Please be assured that all pupils will be able to order a meal in the first few days until the account has been activated and these meals can be paid for once you have activated and loaded funds.

You will need the Access Code handed to your child on Photo Day.

Families may order with FREE delivery to school before the deadline as shown online. After this date orders can be placed with delivery direct to home.

INDIVIDUAL AND SIBLING SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS

The photographer will be in School on Tuesday 28^th March 2023. If your child has siblings in school then we can photograph them together during school hours.

If you have younger siblings that do not attend our school you can bring them in at 8:30am to have a photograph with their school age siblings.

Year 6 children will also be having a group photograph taken wearing their leavers’ hoodies.

There is no obligation for you to buy the photographs but they will be back before the end of term if you would like to purchase it.

If you do NOT want your child/ren to have their photo taken please fill in the slip at the bottom. If we do not receive a response your child WILL have their photograph taken on the day.
