Throughout the term the children will be:
To start the term, the children will be left a letter from the CEO of WWF (World Wild Fund for nature) asking for their help. Through-out the term children will then:
-Learn about animals, their habitats and food chains, collecting data to create their own top trumps.
-Exploring different habitats e.g. desert, artic, rainforest, oceans and what effects we are having on them as humans.
-Finishing off by looking at what makes an ethically informed citizen? Discussing the responsibilities, we have in life creating a collaborative piece of art.
-The children will also complete some coding work with Technocamp.
-Please make every effort to read at home with your child. Just a page or two a day will be really beneficial and help your child to develop their reading skills. Reading books should be brought into school daily, and the children will be read with as often as possible. Reading books will be changed around once per week, if we feel your child needs a new book. There may be occasions where reading books will be sent home for more practice, this will be communicated in your child's reading record.
-Allow children time to write in the house, this could be helping write the shopping list, write a card, write a story together. The most practice children have writing the more confidence they will get.
-Ensure children complete their home learning tasks, this gives you a chance to engage in some learning activities at home with your child, and builds on learning, which has been completed in class.
-Children could also complete any of these 'Daily Do's' to help support their learning journey:
-Practicing spellings of high frequency words.
-Practicing handwriting, recognising and writing letters of the alphabet (Lower and Uppercase)
-Practicing times tables.
-Sharing a story
