Gelert - Miss Symons

Croeso!! Welcome to our last term in Gelert!

We have an extremely busy term ahead of us with lots of exciting learning taking place 😊

This term we will be continuing with out enterprise topic, learning the vital skills needed to become an entrepreneur

*Communication

*Teamwork

*Creative

*Motivation

*Problem solving

*Determination

So far, we have had great fun creating our own logos and slogan with the help of 2Benterprising, who visited our school and supported us in making them.

Welcome to our Summer term in Gelert! This term we will be starting a new topic called ‘Creative and Enterprising Citizens’. We will be focusing on improving our School community through creating a mini business to make a product. The funds we raise will be used to develop our school and hopefully contribute to an end of year excursion. Children will be conducting market research, designing and making prototypes and will be selling their products at the Swansea Market Enterprise Event in June.

Keep an eye out for all our amazing work we have planned over the next couple of weeks.

What we get up to in Gelert

Croeso Gelert!

We have had a fantastic few weeks in Gelert. We have enjoyed getting to know each other, the routine and expectations and enjoyed the teaching and learning, especially our swimming lessons.

We have enjoyed learning about our class name 'Gelert', although it's a very sad story, it has been great for our class discussions on thinking before you act. Ask your child about the story.

We have a very busy term ahead and I hope I was able to answer any of your questions during our meet the teacher session. It was lovely to meet you all!

I will attach our school newsletter, please read it, as it contains information about our learning, communication, homework and spelling and some dates for your diary.

Any questions, please contact me on Dojo. I will be sharing lots of pictures of our weeks ahead on Twitter and Dojo, so keep an eye out.
