It is our absolute pleasure to be teaching your child this year, and we are so excited for all of the learning that is about to take place!
We are starting the Autumn term with our new topic 'Everyone Together' - where we will learn about ourselves, where we live, and move onto the wider world. We will be looking at diversity and different cultures within our own community and across the world. We have lots of activities planned for the children to take part in over the coming weeks. They will also have opportunities to lead their own learning and contribute their ideas, and really think about what it is that they would like to learn.
As always, if you have any questions please contact me via ClassDojo and I will try my best to help.

Monster Phonics - We have recently started using Monster Phonics in class to develop our phonics knowledge. The website is accessible at home, and there is an app that you are able to download to support your child.
Numeracy - To support your child in developing their numeracy skills it's always a good idea to do lots of practical counting at home, this can be as simple as counting the steps up the stairs. Number recognition can also be practised in many different environments e.g. on signs, buses, price tags, etc.
Reading - Reading books have been issued and are to be returned to school by Thursday - Thursday is our designated day for individual reading. Library books are also changed on Thursdays, so should be returned by Thursday too.
Attendance - 'Every day, on time!'
Classroom doors open at 8.40am for children to arrive at school, and will close at 8.50am. If you arrive at school after this time then you will need to sign your child into school at the main office. School finishes at 3.20pm and children are to be collected from the same entrance/exit point.
Snack and water
We have snack time just before morning break, you are welcome to send in a piece of fruit for your child. Alternatively your child can buy fruit in school, at a charge of 30p per day. This can be paid daily, weekly, monthly, etc. - whichever is most convenient to you. Fruit money is to be paid in cash.
The children all have their own water bottles in school, which are cleaned and filled with fresh water daily. They only need to bring a drink to school with them if they are having packed lunch, so that they can take a drink to the dinner hall.
Outdoor Learning
We will spend a lot of time in the outdoor learning area throughout the year, so please ensure your child is wearing appropriate clothing for the weather.
Clothing
Please ensure all clothing is labelled with your child's name, this really helps us to keep their belongings safe.
P.E
We will be having our P.E sessions on a Thursday, so please could all children wear joggers/leggings and comfortable trainers to school that day.
