Year 2 Mrs Raisbeck

Croeso i Blwyddyn Dau! Welcome to Year 2!

In this Spring term we will be exploring Wales as seen from a train window - "Clickety Clack - Travel on the Tracks!" As part of this study, the pupils have decided to create a train in our classroom, where they will role play running a railway. We aim to find out all about the landscape of Wales and also about the different forms of travel that we can use to explore the country.

Important information:

Monday - Fruit money (£1.25) to be sent in, in an envelope marked with your child's name.

Friday - P.E - Children need to wear joggers and trainers for P.E, this may be worn to school on the day or they can change before the session.

Reading books - The children should bring their reading book and reading record to school everyday so that they can read with a teacher and have their book changed if appropriate.

Useful websites:

Hwb, Giglets and Times Table Rockstars - these electronic resources are available free of charge to your children. The children have personalised log on details for each website. Should there be any problems logging on, or using the resources, please get in touch.

 Autumn term in Y2R

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

We had fun surveying the school yard to find out if litter is a problem at Gors and also recycling rubbish  into robots!

Our trip to Craig Y Nos

In the Autumn term we visited Craig Y Nos Country Park and had a wonderful learning experience! We explored the environment using our senses, gathered leaves to make magic potions and fed the ducks! We also created art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy and pressed natural objects into clay to make pictures. The children had a fantastic time!
